You’re not stuck with the value given by the insurance company. That is a negotiable item of damage and something that you’re free to have input in. There are many ways to approach determining the value of a totally damaged vehicle. You’re probably familiar with NADA valuation, Blue Book valuation, Edmunds; these are all sources that are available on the internet. You should access those resources, value your car reasonably, and take that information to the adjuster handling the property damage portion of your claim.
